Why do you add salt? I thought salt wasn’t good for babies.
We think avoiding salty processed foods is a good idea. However, sodium is necessary for every human body, including infants. Nina Planck, author of Real Food for Mother and Baby recommends unrefined sea salt, which contains essential minerals and trace elements. That’s why Serenity Kids uses the best salt we could find: Himalayan pink salt. The USDA recommends at least 200mg of sodium per day for infants with no maximum. The UK’s National Health Service recommends limiting sodium to 1g per day for babies up to 1 year old and 2g for children ages 1-3.
